Escape 03:17
You say, “Get out of here, Leave as fast as you can.” My heart starts to disappear Like footsteps lost in sand Leave behind every part of me Learn to let go Further from my friends and family For a life of my own You say, “It’s not as it seems, Go where you’ll be safe.” For the first time I think, “I can’t save the day.” How can I leave the chaos in my home And leave you to die? How can you think to push me alone And leave me alive? No, I won’t leave, I won’t let go Without you I don’t see the life I love Without you I won’t escape But can’t love save us all? Do the fairy tales believe it? Does love make us fall But won’t pick up the pieces? I won’t escape I can’t escape Without you.

Flying Blind 02:53
Grass up to knees Getting harder to breathe It’s not easy to look in your eyes Days pass like birds Time is endless to us We are lost in the blue skies PRECHORUS: The warmth of your skin And the sound of your voice Please hold me tighter I’m losing my sight CHORUS: I’m flying blind Flying blind Flying blind Flying blind Speaking for hours Up among with the owls With you, I don’t want to flee Invaded by nerves But I’m safe if your arms Is this how love feels? PRECHORUS, CHORUS I’m flying, I’m falling Can’t open my eyes I’m flying, I’m falling I’m scared of the heights I’m flying, flying, flying I’m falling for you CHORUS
3.
It’s as though the stars are falling Pounding through the pavement Finding their way through the carving Through the life that surrounds it It’s falling harder, falling faster Rushing through the rivers Fall as if we’d live forever Trust as if we’d lost it CHORUS: And what’s the use of knowing Where life will take us, how it will break us? And what’s the point of caring If it only hurts us, only breaks us It’s like the stars are falling out of reach Take the chance, take the leap For the stars For the stars It’s as though they’re crashing over waves In too deep to try It’s as though they speak through haze Tangled in our lives CHORUS It’s the calm before the storm Rushing through our veins It’s the end of a lie The lie before the pain CHORUS And the stars are falling one by one Closer to freedom

Breathe 04:44
The night falls on the city That’s lost in its fog The bird, it follows blindly The bird that cannot fall It spreads its wings, it bathes in The glow of firelight ‘Cause after all, who’s heard of A bird afraid of heights? And even though the rain falls The bird still flies Freely as the wind and Leaves the past behind CHORUS: We breathe in the memories Breathe We breathe in the storm ahead Breathe We’re destined to fail but we Won’t admit defeat We breathe Delighting in the truth and Encouraged from a lie Either way, the bird finds The strength to fly Determined to survive, It flies higher in the sky And little does the bird know It’s not alone tonight And even though the rain falls The bird still flies Freely as the wind and Laughter by its side CHORUS And the night is filled with Light that never fades Drowning in moonlight Dreading the day And when the sun rises All pretenses fall Even the winner Is lost in the fog We breathe in the memories Breathe We breathe in the storm ahead Breathe We wish we didn’t race We wish that we were free We are destined to fail but we Won’t admit defeat We breathe Breathe And even as the night ends The bird still flies Freely as the wind and Finally alive

about

Escape is my debut EP. It's a sort of homemade demo, and is probably the most challenging project I've encountered in music so far. Special thanks to my voice teacher Giselle Minns for guiding me throughout the recording process. I've worked very hard on this, and I really hope you enjoy it :)
